چکیده
Abstract The goal of the work reported was to determine influence selected shot peening parameters on deflection Almen strip and load capacity single-lap adhesive joints made 2-mm-thick aluminium alloy EN AW-2024-T3. Moreover, research aimed at checking possibility using indicator predict after peening. analysis carried out according Hartley’s PS/DS-P:Ha3 plan. input factors were parameters: treatment time t (60–180 s), ball diameter d k (0.5–1.5 mm) compressed air pressure p (0.3–0.5 MPa). It has been proved in this that outer surface can be used strengthen joint. maximum increase peened 33.4%. observed decreases with an (in assumed area variability technological parameters). results obtained indicate adoption too intensive treatment, manifested high values strip, may weaken joints.

Failure Mode Analysis of Aluminium Alloy 2024-T3 in Double-Lap Bolted Joints with Single and Double Fasteners; A Numerical and Experimental Study
This paper aims to study the mechanical behaviour and failure mode of Al 2024-T3 in double-lap bolted joints. To accomplish this, the effect of geometric parameters was investigated in both configurations of single and double fasteners. Using ABAQUS/Standard, a three-dimensional finite element model was developed and verified against the experimental results of the joints loaded in tension. In ...
متن کاملMoisture absorption-desorption effects in adhesive joints
This paper presents a study of moisture absorption-desorption effects in single lap adhesive joints. Experiments were carried out to characterise the moisture uptake of the single part epoxide adhesive, FM73. Tensile testing of single lap joints manufactured from aluminium alloy 2024 T3 and O and FM73 adhesive was carried out after the joints were exposed to different conditioning environments....
متن کاملSemi Analytical Transient Dynamic Analysis of Composite Adhesive Single-lap Joints
A novel semi analytical method is developed for transient analysis of single-lap adhesive joints with laminated composite adherends subjected to dynamical loads. The presented approach has the capability of choosing arbitrary loadings and boundary conditions. In this model, adherends are assumed to be orthotropic plates that pursuant to the classical lamination theory. Stacking sequences can be...
متن کاملFatigue behaviour of composite adhesive lap joints
This paper is concerned with a fatigue study of composite adhesive lap joints produced from a bi-directional woven E-glass fibres and polypropylene. The adhesive used was a Bostik 7452 (Rubber & Plastics Grade) ethyl cyanoacrylate type. The effects of layer orientation, lap joint length and water immersion on the fatigue behaviour were studied. The specimens were immersed in water during period...
متن کاملLocalised corrosion in aluminium alloy 2024-T3 using in situ TEM.
An approach to carry out chemical reactions using aggressive gases in situ in a transmission electron microscope (TEM), at ambient pressures of 1.5 bar using a windowed environmental cell, called a nanoreactor, is presented here. The nanoreactor coupled with a specially developed holder with platinum tubing permits the usage of aggressive chemicals like hydrochloric acid (HCl).
